Welcome to the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science's FAQ page! Dear Applicant:

Are you ready for the most academically challenging high school in the state of Mississippi? Do you have dreams of doing great things? Do you crave the opportunity to work with excellent faculty? Would you like to live and work with students who are as motivated as you?

If so, the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science may be for you. MSMS was created by the Mississippi legislature in 1987. Each year, we welcome a new group of academically-talented young people for a unique two-year experience that includes rigorous academic coursework, counseling services, and student activities in a residential setting on the campus of Mississippi University for Women.

MSMS graduates attend outstanding universities throughout the country and are involved in interesting, rewarding work throughout the world. Many tell us that MSMS was the turning point of their lives.

Mississippi was the fourth state in the nation to provide its academically-talented students with this level of quality public education. We are delighted that you are interested in joining us. It all starts by completing this application. If you are selected to attend MSMS, we will be committed to your success. In turn, we expect a matching level of commitment from you to develop your full potential.
